Production process
Raw material preparation:
Select appropriate alloying elements, such as iron, chromium, nickel, molybdenum, etc., to ensure that they meet the composition standards of 2205 stainless steel.
Smelting:
The raw materials are placed in an electric arc furnace or induction furnace for melting to form liquid metal. The temperature and composition need to be controlled during the melting process to ensure the uniformity of the alloy.
Casting:
Molten metal is poured into a mold and cooled to form an ingot. The size and shape of the ingot affects subsequent processing.
Hot rolled or cold rolled:
After the ingot is heated to the appropriate temperature, it is processed into the desired tube shape by hot rolling or cold rolling process. Hot rolling is usually used for large diameter tubes, while cold rolling is used for small diameter and high precision tubes.
Heat treatment:
Heat treatment is performed on the rolled stainless steel pipe to improve its mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Common heat treatment methods include solution treatment and aging treatment.
Cooling and annealing:
After heat treatment, the tube needs to be cooled and annealed to eliminate internal stress and improve the toughness of the material.
Cutting and forming:
Cut the stainless steel tubes to the required lengths and perform the necessary forming processes to meet the customer’s specific requirements.
Surface treatment:
Surface treatment of the pipe, such as pickling and polishing, to remove the oxide layer and impurities and improve the surface finish and corrosion resistance.
Inspection and testing:
Conduct quality inspection on finished pipes, including size, appearance, mechanical properties and chemical composition, to ensure they meet relevant standards and customer requirements.
Packaging and Shipping:
Pack qualified products and prepare to ship to customers.
